Learn How to Rise from Heurelho Gomes

thesun.co.uk
The Premier League has already entered a crucial week with leaving game week within counting by one hand only. One of these trivial questions may be posed: who is the best goalkeeper the Premier League so far?

Yes, many parameters can be used. One of them is the value of players in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) which for me is quite fair because it also calculates and gives point on rescue and give more value on the penalty kicks saving.

So who is the goalie with the highest value in the FPL? Forget the name of Petr Cech, Joe Hart, or David de Gea. Neither of the two new rising names in Kasper Schmeichel and Jack Butland. And of course don't expect name Thibaut Courtois, let alone Simon Mignolet to appear.

The goalie with the highest point FPL is Heurelho Gomes. Yes, this is not a mistaken. Heurelho Gomes familiarly accosted as Gomes. Someone who in the past was the master regarding making blunders.

The name Gomes – let alone in the eyes of the fans of the Premier League – very closely with blunders. Even on the YouTube video there is a video title The Worst of Heurelho Gomes, which displays the failed Gomes caught the ball until the ball off and led to the breach in the penalty box by Gomes.

And the behaviour of Gomes is not a joke, make blunders as well rather than just in the Premier League. Gomes even also make blunders though were wearing uniforms with the Champions League emblem on her arm, really there is no familiar place and time.

Goals tend to be funny which lodged in his goalpost, make Gomes more remembered as burlesque. His blunder that was not a bit of it is also making people forget about his saving which is also a lot and not less scintillating than Mignolet though.

Big in Brazil and became fully professional in Cruzeiro, Gomes was famous in Europe along with PSV Eindhoven. Body towering bald does give a difference above the field.

Approx 4 years in the Netherlands, Gomes eventually transported by Juande Ramos to Tottenham Hotspur in June 2008 with a price that was arguably not cheap for the size of a goalie, 7.8 million pounds. Eight years passed with all transactions in a position below the goalpost, Gomes still at number 30 most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

The price is a little more expensive than when the rich Paris Saint Germain (PSG) acquired Kevin Trapp from Germany. With provision as goalkeeper of Eredivisie champions may bolster the price that quite expensive.

Then how did the first season of Gomes in London? Is not bad. In 3060 minutes or 34 matches, Gomes conceded 40 times with 120 saving throughout the season. Not too bad because in that season, the Spurs were somewhat being disturbed despite successfully finished the season in the eighth.

In a somewhat reduced amount of matches because of injury, Gomes was involved in one of the best all-time Spurs seasons. In 2009/2010, Gomes was on the field during 2715 minutes with just 26 goals conceded.

This was the season he really showed his names, including making rescue aligned with Gordon Banks when Spurs face with Portsmouth. Exactly on this season, Gomes shook off two penalty kick from Darren Bent.

A series of a brilliant performance from Gomes managed to put the Spurs on the fourth stairs and passed the London Club into the Champions League for the first time.

Unfortunately, the next season was hell for Gomes. A row of blunders typical Gomes did indeed appear on the 2010/2011 season. Received the red card, Gomes surely contributed to the defeat of Spurs 3-4 from host Inter Milan. This was a game that makes people familiar with Gareth Bale because he could make a tractor like Javier Zanetti realized that he is old. How come, he invited to do run continuously.

Gomes was also known for failed to catch Cristiano Ronaldo's long-distance kick in the match that closes the career of Spurs in the Champions League. And just when the 2010/2011 season ended, his career in the Premier League also ended.

Gomes never again grazing in the Premier League and upon arrival of Hugo Lloris, Gomes never stranded at the position of goalkeeper. Yes, from a high-profile goalkeeper, Gomes slid with certainty to the base. Born in 1981, as Gomes recently turned 30 years old when it all happened. The age which should be still so the golden era of a goalkeeper.

Uniquely, Gomes was also not everywhere. He only escaped once to Germany alongside Hoffenheim to graze in 9 matches. Afterward, Gomes returned to Spurs, who have already completed a polemic about the main goalkeeper with ordaining Hugo Lloris surely under the bar.

Medio 2014, at the age of 33 years, Gomes finished the bitter and sweet moments at Tottenham to sign a short contract along with Watford. With The Hornets, Gomes like reborn.

Appeared in 44 Games, Gomes success brought Watford to the Premier League. Worthy of note, he had already three seasons did not graze on this caste.

Ah, never mind about the grazing, sitting on the bench just isn't! And to be honest with a  stunning appearance of Courtois, the position of the main Arsenal goalkeeper belong to Petr Cech, until the completion of the de Gea saga, I am sure not many fans of Premier League, who remember on Gomes.

What happens next was entirely belong to Gomes. In the first five weeks, Gomes only conceded four goals and clean sheet 3 times. An interesting accomplishment for a promotion team and certainly for Gomes, who is remembered by people due to his blunders.

Up to 34 matches played by Watford, Gomes full play at 33 weeks. His notes? Conceded 39 goals. Index conceded one comma certainly not an indiscriminate accomplishment.

Moreover, if we then know that 11 of 34 Week or a third League, Gomes managed to protect the goalpost from conceded at all! Figure 11 clean sheets that are the best of fellow team promotions, and certainly better than Simon Mignolet (10th clean sheet).

The former loser is also a goalkeeper with most saving numbers 115 until week 34, just above Butland — who race by Lukasz Fabianski — and barely doubled Mignolet (61 saves).

When defeated by Spurs last February, Gomes actually make his former team frustrating by 8 saving in 1 game. The same number also published Gomes when Watford defeated by Arsenal 4-0. Maybe, if the goalie was not Gomes, it could be 8 or 9 goals that nest to Watford's goalpost.

All the attainment thus culminated in something performed by Gomes 6 years ago, shook off two penalties in one game in an identical manner.

At the past, Gomes used to dealing with Darren Bent, now with Saido Berahino. First Gomes shook off left and right, is now also the case.

Gomes name went to the forefront because with two saving everyone then knew that like Premier League Twitter account said: "No goalkeeper to have faced 20 + penalties in BPL history has a better save percentage than Gomes (32%)". Gomes even the only player in the history of the Premier League, who shook off two penalties in two games.

Yes, Gomes is successfully introducing himself back into the world through the Premier League. Although Gomes is not really separated from the blunders – such as when Watford defeated by Leicester City – but Gomes was able to rise with style.

At a time when people began to forget how tough Gomes is, he came up with a proof with no rhetoric at all and really real that it all turns out to be. Gomes was one of the key survival for a small team called the Watford in the wilderness Premier League that heinous.

Oh, as a closing and simply remind us how through Gomes is, there is a coincidence of interest. Two days before shook off two penalty kicks Berahino, Gomes retweet chirp @psveindhoven account which reminds us that 11 years ago, PSV made to the semifinals of the Champions League after defeated Lyon via a penalty shootout.

Eric Abidal and Michael Essien were two persons who failed to place the ball into the goal. And certainly we all know who faced by Abidal and Essien at a distance of 12 meters of it.

A man who is now just putting the history of the Premier League. A man who gives evidence that rises from the slump that's not theory. He is Gomes.
