via francefootball.fr
When talking about the French League (Ligue 1), the name of Zlatan Ibrahimovic will always appear in the discussion. Whether because of the fantastic goals or behavior and weird words but anticipated by many people.

Ibra is able to continue to dominate Ligue 1 with PSG since his arrival in 2012, a record-breaking goal in PSG and he can attract the attention of the French public with his charisma.

After playing in Ligue 1 for 4 years, Ibra is often referred as the best foreign player ever to play in France. Other names competing for the title with Ibra is among Juninho Pernambucano, who will always be adored by supporters of Olympique Lyon, and George Weah, the only player of Ligue 1 who won the Ballon d'Or.

Such as Ibrahimovic, Juninho and Weah have a brilliant career outside France. Juninho played for Vasco de Gama before joining Les Gones, Olympique Lyon, while Weah was known when wearing the black and red uniforms with AC Milan.

French football magazine, France Football, awarded best foreign player of all time in Ligue 1 to Safet Susic. However, if we ask it to people who have the experience of watching the French league last few decades, there will be one other name that will always appear.

With a little smile remembering his game, people will not hesitate to invoke the name l'Aigle Dalmate, Dalmatian Eagle, Monsieur Goal, Josip Skoblar.

Josip Skoblar, a player from Croatia, will always be remembered by the supporters of Olympique Marseille as Monsieur Goal, Mr. Goal. Skoblar played for L'OM in 1966 to 1975.

As the nickname given to him, Skoblar was a striker who able to keep playing well on both sides of the field. He was a player with the right leg and left foot equally well, has speed, power, and basically be remembered, for one thing, his ability to score goals.

Skoblar started a football career in his native country, Croatia. Small Skoblar joined NZ Zadar, in 1957 at the age of 16 years. A local club which was not far from his hometown, Privlaka.

In 1958, Skoblar joined OFK Beograd after Beograd goalkeeper, Perica Radenkovic, inadvertently saw Skoblar game when he served in the military service in Zadar. Radenkovic was praising his physical strength and sharpness in scoring.

In Belgrade, Skoblar developed into a frightening attack. He scored 63 goals in 162 matches for Belgrade before leaving the club in 1966 to join Hannover 96.

Arriving in Germany, Hannover lent directly Skoblar to the French league club, Olympique Marseille. Skoblar joined L'OM in the middle of the season 1966/1967 and was able to play well directly for his new club.

After scoring 13 goals in 15 matches with Marseille, Skoblar returned to Germany at the end of the season. Skoblar productivity did not disappear with Hannover, scoring 30 goals in 57 appearances. Skoblar adventure with Hannover lasted only briefly after Marseille asked him to join in the 1969/1970 season.

Not easy for Marcel Leclerc, owner of Marseille at the time, to bring Skoblar. Tug of war took place between Hannover, who did not want to lose one of the best players and Marseille which at that time was having a title drought for 21 years.

This problem ended when Leclerc personally went to Germany asking Skoblar directly to join Marseille. Rumor said that Leclerc was eager to bring Skoblar, so he went alone to Hannover and had prepared two tickets to return to France, one for himself, one for his Monsieur Goal, Josip Skoblar.

In the first season, Skoblar back to France, 1969/1970, Marseille managed to finish the competition in the second rank, under Saint-Etienne that at the time had won the French League for the fourth time in a row. Once again Skoblar scored 13 goals despite playing only half a season.

He had already become a favorite player of the supporters before the start of the season 1970/1971; Skoblar closed the second season with Marseille as a hero. Since the first game, Skoblar directly had a positive impact for his team.

l'Aigle Dalmate scored the winning goal in the final minutes against Nantes. This was continued throughout the season. Skoblar always capable of scoring important goals during the competition.

In that season, in addition, to delivering L'OM ended the 23 years of title fasting, Skoblar also managed to sign up as top scorer with 44 goals. An incision goal into a record that until now could not be bypassed by other players in the French league.

Skoblar not only had a great individual ability but also capable of playing as a team very well. His duet on the front lines with Roger Magnusson was one of the best duos in Europe at that time. Together, Magnusson and Skoblar already scored nearly 200 goals for Marseille during the 1970s.

Marseille back into the top team in French football. In the next season, while still relying on Skoblar, L'OM managed to retain the French League title and marry it with the Coupe de France.

In the final game, Marseille beat Bastia 2-1. Winning goal scorer? Of course, Josip Skoblar. In this second chance to defend Marseille, Monsieur Goal capable of scoring 138 goals in 159 matches. Managed to become the top scorers in Division 1 France (Ligue 1 currently) for three consecutive seasons.

In the 1974/1975 season, the arrival of the Brazilian players, Jairzinho, and Paul Cesar made a chance to play for Skoblar be greatly reduced and ultimately chose to return home to join with HNK Rijeka.

Skoblar may not have a long career in France as Safet Susic were able to play well for more than a decade. However, the ability Skoblar in scoring through various ways; long-distance kicks, chip, hard half-volley kick, free kick, a powerful header; will always leave memories for French football.

Just Fontaine, one of the best France footballers, praised Skoblar as a unique player.

"When I saw (Skoblar) in front of the goalpost, every time, when I think, kick using inside left foot, an outside right foot, header, right now! At that time, he had been doing. Scored a goal each time, using a variety of possible ways to score goals, in just fractions of a second. In the past 30 years, he was the only attacker who I see have such capabilities in France, "said Fontaine.

See the achievements individually and in teams; it seems appropriate to call Monsieur Goal, Josip Skoblar, as one of the best foreign players ever to play in France. Moreover, a record of 44 goals in one season in the French league that he recorded is still not able to reach by other players, by a Zlatan Ibrahimovic though.
